ADSL plus and ADSL extra

Vodafone now offers two choices for internet users; ADSL plus and ADSL extra. With ADSL plus customers can get up to 12 Mb/s. ADSL extra suits those who have an even greater need for a fast connection, or up to 14 Mb/s. With ADSL plus customers can choose a 1, 6, 8 or 12 Mb connection. With an 8 or 12 Mb connection the volume of data is unlimited. ADSL plus up to 1 Mb/s.

Internet gateway

In order to connect to the internet with ADSL you need a device, either in or for your computer. ADSL modems are available as a PCI card built into a PC computer, as an external USB modem or as an ADSL router. Vodafone offers customers wireless ADSL routers for 2490 ISK with 12 month customer support. In order to connect to wireless routers, computers need to have an internal or external receiver for wireless net (WiFi). This type of receiver is built into all newer laptops and is also available as an accessory (PCI or USB) for desktop computers. Thus you can install your wireless connection in a good place and connect home computers to the net without having cords all over the place. The range of wireless routers depends on the environment (the number of internal walls) but they generally function well between 2 or 3 stone walls.
