When travelling to Iceland our starter packs can help you stay connected during your trip. Two different starter packs are available, with or without a phone. To top-up, you can buy top-up scratch-cards, available widely throughout the country, or top-up online at our secure top-up site.
Basic Starter Pack
The Basic Starter pack is an easy and convenient option – it is basically a prepaid Icelandic mobile card with an ISK 1.000 credit. Just slide the card into you phone’s SIM-card slot, and you’ve got your own operational Icelandic phone number. Perfect for those who travel with their own mobile phones and want to be able to make local calls without roaming charges.

Starter pack with a phone
A great option for those travelling without their own phone or those who want to keep their regular phone number operational and yet be able to call local numbers at local rates.
Included is the Vodafone 246 entry level mobile phone, which is perfect for those in need of a basic and easy-to-use phone. Some of the main features are a FM radio, alarm clock, torch light and speakerphone. Read more about Vodafone 246 by clicking here. You’ll also get a prepaid Icelandic mobile card with an ISK 1.000 credit.
You can get the Starter pack with a phone at the in-flight store in Iceland Express airplanes and at the N1 gas stations. The Vodafone 246 and a prepaid card are also available at the Vodafone stores in Iceland (for locations, see "Help and support" on the right side of this page) for ISK 6.480.

Go online on your mobile phone
Using Vodafone‘s prepaid plan, when you go online on your mobile phone you only pay 25 ISK per day for 5 MB of data. If you exceed those 5 MB in one day, another 25 ISK is withdrawn from your account and you are good for another 5 MB of data transfer. See more on data transfers.
